Begin with the correct handbook
Keep the current owner information for your exact model, model year and market with the car’s administration. A general hypercar checklist is useful for organising questions, but it should never replace the instructions supplied for the vehicle. If your car has a model supplement or updated guidance, include it in the record.
When buying a previously owned hypercar, ask which documents, chargers, covers and service information come with it. Where something is missing, establish the correct replacement with the manufacturer’s retailer. A familiar-looking accessory is not evidence that it is suitable for your vehicle.
Treat the finish as a specification, not a colour
Before arranging detailing, record whether the car has gloss or matt paint, exposed carbon, protection film, a wrap or other specialist finishes. Give the detailer this information and ask them to confirm the appropriate products and methods with the relevant manufacturer or finish supplier.
Agree the scope in advance: a maintenance clean is a different brief from correction, film replacement or restorative work. Ask how existing marks will be documented and what happens if the team finds an area needing assessment. The useful outcome is an understood process, not a promise that every surface can be treated in the same way.
Make storage an active arrangement
A storage plan should say who is responsible for care, how observations are recorded and who contacts the owner when something needs attention. Discuss the planned period away, any intended movements, access for specialist appointments and the checks recommended for the particular car.
If several people are involved, distinguish permission to move the car from permission to authorise work. Record the state in which it arrived and any agreed restrictions. Photography can help document condition without showing the storage facility’s sensitive arrangements or the owner’s security credentials.
Ask precise questions about battery support
Do not assume that one conditioner or charging routine suits every hypercar. The manufacturer’s instructions should identify the appropriate equipment and process. This is particularly important where a vehicle has both a low-voltage electrical system and a hybrid powertrain.
For example, McLaren’s Speedtail handbook supplement distinguishes its 12V and high-voltage batteries and the equipment used for them. That is a model-specific example of why a generic charging recommendation is inadequate. Ask the relevant retailer to confirm the instructions for your car; this guide does not provide a charging or electrical repair procedure.
Keep tyres and servicing in the plan
Ask the retailer or a suitably qualified tyre specialist what inspections and storage arrangements apply to your particular tyre and vehicle combination. Before use, pressures should follow the vehicle maker’s specification; Michelin’s guidance explains why cold and warm readings require different handling. Do not copy another owner’s pressure setting or a figure intended for a different use.
Record the next service discussion and who is responsible for booking it. Low mileage is not a substitute for checking the applicable maintenance schedule. If the car has been used in a different way, such as on a circuit, discuss that history with the relevant service team rather than assuming the ordinary routine covers it.
Connect care and security at handover
Tell a detailer, storage partner or service team how authorised access will be arranged, using the procedure agreed for the installed equipment. Clarify who manages any provider notifications and who checks the security arrangement when the car is returned.
Autosecureshop’s role here is specialist vehicle security. Mechanical servicing, paintwork assessment and battery maintenance remain with the appropriately qualified specialists. Good coordination helps the owner understand how those separate services fit together.
- Exact handbook and model supplements available.
- Finish specification and detailing scope understood.
- Storage responsibilities and owner contact agreed.
- Manufacturer-confirmed battery support arrangement.
- Tyre and service questions assigned to the right specialist.
- Security access and return handover planned.

Use the McLaren owner manual portal to select the appropriate vehicle. The Speedtail handbook supplement illustrates model-specific battery guidance; it is not a procedure for other cars. Read Michelin’s tyre inflation guidance alongside your vehicle’s specified pressures. These sources support the relevant points above; the checklist is our general planning framework.
